Patty Dempsey
LPC-IT with a focus on Spiritual Guidance and Support
Patty Dempsey, is a LPC-IT with a focus on spiritual guidance. Patty's approach is highly individualized and client centered, integrating client-led spiritual guidance and practices into the therapeutic process when indicated.
Patty specializes in helping clients navigate grief, trauma, life transitions, and questions that explore meaning, purpose, and moral identity—particularly those facing life's deeper challenges: finding meaning through suffering, healing from moral injury, and discovering purpose amid uncertainty.
Grounded in the foundations of positive psychology and expanded through existential positive psychology, her approach integrates meaning, suffering, and spiritual inquiry into clinical practice. Her approach combines the Flowcess® model of the mind and brain (that helps people understand their uniqueness and thought process so that they can live a life of flow and generativity) with forgiveness science, flow theory, and existential foundations. Through seven interconnected principles—uniqueness, values, purpose, justice, mercy, forgiveness, and love—she guides clients from conflict toward alignment, hope, and psychological flow.
Her therapeutic framework, "Be. Cause," helps clients explore the intangible causes of distress and create generative pathways toward clarity, hope, and authentic engagement. She provides individual, family, and group therapy in a trauma-informed, inclusive environment that honors both the empirical rigor of positive psychology and the depth required to address suffering and spiritual development.
Patty notes, “I help people find meaning through suffering and move from conflict to clarity by integrating positive psychology, existential depth, forgiveness science, and spiritual inquiry into evidence-based counseling, Be.Cause I believe deep healing comes from mind, body, and spirit exploration, connection, and growth.”
Beyond clinical care, Patty integrally supports Be.'s efforts to expand spiritually integrated services through program development, staff consult, and community partnerships. As an ordained pastor and mental health professional, she brings a unique perspective to the intersection of faith, spirituality, and well-being, welcoming clients from all backgrounds—including those with no religious affiliation.
Patty holds a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is a Licensed Professional Counselor – In Training (LPC-IT) under supervision by Dr. Carey Sorenson, PhD, RYT-200, Executive Clinical Director at Be.
When not at Be., Patty enjoys traveling, cooking, tennis, fitness, and time with family and friends—practicing the same principles she brings to her work.
