• Senior Therapist at Wisconsin Early Autism Project, Inc.
• Case Manager serving the chronically homeless population in Washington County
• Psychotherapist at Affiliated Clinical Services, Inc.
• Business Owner and LPC at Be Your Better Self, LLC
Carissa earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UW–Milwaukee and her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College. During her graduate training, she facilitated social skills groups and consulted with local schools, further strengthening her systems-based and family-centered perspective.
Her professional philosophy blends evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with holistic and integrative frameworks, including mindfulness, movement, and wellness-informed practices. Across her career, she has maintained a strong focus on supporting children, families, and individuals navigating meaningful life transitions.
Carissa’s work is grounded in the belief that growth happens when people are supported with dignity, structure, and compassion — a principle that continues to guide her leadership and advocacy work at Be.
If you have client rights concerns or care coordination questions, Carissa can be contacted through the Be. administrative team to ensure matters are addressed promptly and appropriately.
